History Of Adams Bank & Trust
Adams Bank & Trust is a financial institution originally established as Keith County Bank on February 26, 1962. It underwent several name changes, becoming Keith County Bank & Trust Company in 1967 and then again on May 14, 1973, when it was renamed Keith County Bank & Trust Company after moving its main office to 315 North Spruce Street, Ogallala, Nebraska. On January 20, 1986, the bank adopted its current name, Adams Bank & Trust, and expanded through multiple acquisitions, including First Security Bank in Sutherland, Security State Bank in Madrid, Chase County Bank & Trust Company in Imperial, and Bank of Brule in Brule, all on the same day. The bank became a member of the Federal Reserve System and changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Reserve on March 8, 1995. It continued to grow by acquiring several other banks, including the Bank of Indianola in Indianola, Nebraska, on July 17, 1999; Bank of Colorado - Western Slope in Grand Junction, Colorado, on December 16, 2000; and Vista Bank in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on April 17, 2004.
