HISTORY OF AB&T
AB&T, originally established as Albany Bank & Trust, National Association, on April 28, 1999, has undergone several significant changes throughout its history. In 2002, the institution expanded its trust powers to offer full services. On March 31, 2009, AB&T acquired Ab&t National Bank located in Dothan, Alabama, marking a pivotal point in its development. Following this acquisition, the bank adopted the name Ab&t National Bank. However, on December 31, 2016, it changed its name to AB&T and transitioned from a National Bank to a state-chartered bank, withdrawing from membership in the Federal Reserve System and designating the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) as its primary regulatory agency. The bank's trust powers were also reverted to none at this time. On June 30, 2022, AB&T relocated its main office to 2815 Meredyth Drive in Albany, Georgia.
