History Of 1st United Bank
1st United Bank is a financial institution based in Faribault, Minnesota, originally established on January 1, 1920, as Faribault Federal Savings and Loan Association. Over the years, the bank underwent several name and organizational changes. On August 31, 1989, it became known as Faribault Federal Savings Bank and transitioned to a stock savings bank. Subsequently, on February 28, 1985, it changed its organization type to a stock savings and loan. The institution adopted its current name, 1st United Bank, on December 2, 1996. Following that change, it switched its primary federal regulatory agency from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) on February 13, 2012. On the same date, it reclassified itself as a state-chartered bank and moved its main office to 430 4th Street Northwest, Faribault, Minnesota 55021. 1st United Bank is not a member of the Federal Reserve System.
