1st Summit Bank, originally established as Salix State Bank on January 1, 1924, has undergone several name and operational changes throughout its history. In 1982, the institution changed its name to Summit Bank. Following this, in 1987, the main office was relocated to Main Street in Salix, Pennsylvania. On May 29, 1990, the bank's trust powers were changed to limited. Shortly after, on March 28, 1990, the main office moved again to 125 Donald Lane in Johnstown, Pennsylvania.
